You should encourage your partner or baby sitter to bottle-feed the baby, as he will not expect to be breast-fed by them and may take to bottle-feeding more easily and try to changing the formula you use, as it could to that the baby dislikes the taste.

The ugly truth about formula

A multitude of studies demonstrate that when breastfeeding is accompanied by bottle feeding with formula supplementation, illness and death rates are much closer to those of babies who are fully formula-fed.  

 

The Advantage

Either parent (or another caregiver) can feed the baby a bottle at any time (although this is also true for women who pump their breast milk).

 

The Challenges

Enough formula must be on hand at all times and bottles must be made in bottle feeding with formula. In formula feeding, the powdered and condensed formulas must be prepared with sterile water (which needs to be boiled until the baby is at least 6 months old) or bottled sterilized baby water. Formula can be costly. Manufactured infant formulas have yet to duplicate the complexity of breast milk, which changes as the baby's needs change.
